Spartak Moscow fitness coach : Victor Moses surprised by workload in training
Published: June 01, 2021
Spartak Moscow physical training coach Vladimir Chepzanovich has revealed that Victor Moses was surprised by the intensity of the training sessions when he joined the club on loan from Chelsea.
The former Nigeria international did not take part in Spartak Moscow's pre-season but trained with the so-called Chelsea Loan Army before transferring to the Russian Premier League side last October.
Moses had to work incredibly hard to get up to speed when he joined the Muscovites having missed the first ten league games of the 2020-2021 season.
The 30-year-old did not go the distance in any of his first four matches for Spartak Moscow as he was lacking fitness.
"Schurrle said that there is a frantic training rhythm in Spartak. Moses is also surprised by our work," Chepzanovich said to championat.com.
"The load depends on the state of the body. All players after training look emotionally and physically exhausted, which was especially noticeable in Tedesco's first preseason in Abu Dhabi.
"But we, of course, do not give something that would make our players worse."
Moses is expected to complete a permanent transfer to Spartak Moscow when the transfer window officially opens for business after playing a key role in the club's qualification for next season's Champions League.
He logged the full ninety in each of Spartak's last five matches in the Russian Premier League.
