Published: July 27, 2021
Adana Demirspor have completed the signing of Nigerian winger David Akintola, the newly-promoted Turkish Super Lig club have informed via Instagram.
Akintola's transfer to Adana Demirspor has brought an end to his six-year association with Danish side FC Midtjylland, whom he joined from FC Ebedei in 2015.
Akintola was not really given a chance to prove his worth at The Wolves, leading to loan spells at six different clubs namely Thisted FC, Jerv, Haugesund, Rosenborg, Omonia and Hatayspor.
He departs Midtjylland after only three appearances for the first team in all competitions - the last of which came against Fremad Amager on October 27, 2016.
The exciting winger previously played in the Turkish top-flight for Hatayspor, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in 34 appearances over the course of the 2020-2021 campaign.
Akintola has signed a three-year deal with Adana Demirspor, keeping him at the Blue Lightnings until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
