Official : Racing Genk announce the signing of Chelsea striker Ugbo on four-year deal
Published: August 24, 2021Through a statement on their official website, Belgian First Division A side Racing Genk have announced the acquisition of Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported eight days ago that the Super Eagles hopeful will put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Racing Genk, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2024-2025 season, and the Belgian Cup winners have confirmed as much.
Ugbo links up with Nigerian attackers Paul Onuachu, Cyriel Dessers and Stephen Odey at Racing Genk.
The 22-year-old is making a return to Belgium after wearing the colours of Cercle Brugge last season.
He impressed during a loan spell with the Green and Black, scoring 17 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions, leading to a plethora of clubs in Europe fighting for his signature.
Ugbo is in good physical condition having trained with Chelsea's first team in pre-season and is in line to make his debut for his new employer when they take on Anderlecht on Sunday, August 29.
The confident center forward will be wearing the number 21 jersey in his first season at Racing Genk.
