Official : Nigeria's all-time top scorer In MLS history joins Minnesota United FC
Major League Soccer Western Conference team Minnesota United inform through their official website the signing of Nigerian attacker Fanendo Adi.

The 30-year-old has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with Minnesota United, with a one-year option.

Adi, who was called up to the Super Eagles squad in March 2016 ahead of an AFCON qualifier against Egypt, was handed a deal after training with The Loons for few days.

The former FC Copenhagen  star is the top scoring Nigerian player in the history of Major League Soccer with 55 goals in 147 appearances combined, fifteen more than ex-Seattle Sounders hero Obafemi Martins.

Adi is a Major League Soccer veteran having worn the colours of Portland Timbers, Cincinnati and Columbus Crew in the past.

Speaking on his new signing, Minnesota United coach Adrian Heath said : "Obviously, he’s very experienced within the league, scored goals within the league, has won an MLS Cup.

"Two of my staff members here — Sean McCauley and Cameron Knowles — have worked with Adi for years and know everything there is to know about him.

"We’ve had this position open and we think he’s a little bit different than everybody else that we’ve got."

Apart from the aforementioned teams,  Adi lists AS Trencin, Metalurg Donetsk, SK Tavriya Simferopol and Dynamo Kiev as his previous employers.
