Leicester fans would be worried ahead of Man Utd clash as Rohr provides update on Iheanacho
Published: October 08, 2021Leicester City fans would be worried ahead of the upcoming Premier League game against Manchester United with news that Kelechi Iheanacho suffered an injury while on international duty with the Super Eagles.
The Foxes welcome the Red Devils to the King Power Stadium in their first game after the international break on October 16 and Iheanacho may be joining compatriot Wilfred Ndidi in the treatment room.
In the first real piece of action during the World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Central African Republic, Iheanacho fell on the turf and immediately signaled to the bench to be replaced after playing a curling shot that wasn't very far away from ending up in the back of the net in the 34th minute.
After picking up the injury, the Super Eagles striker played through the pain barrier and was replaced at half-time.
Speaking to reporters post-match, manager Gernot Rohr admitted that he was sweating on the fitness of Iheanacho ahead of the trip to Cameroon for the matchday four clash against Central African Republic.
"Yes there will be some changes, we have already some injuries. I don't know if Kelechi is able to play, he had a knock," Rohr said.
"Then we have other players who are tired. They tried, they ran a lot, they were fighting like always but this defeat is giving the recovery more difficult.
"They will not sleep well tonight, nobody from us, but we have to recover and to prepare from tomorrow, the match will be at 2pm on Sunday, and to go there and win the match".

Iheanacho has tasted action in all the Premier League matches played by Leicester City in the new season, scoring one goal and providing an assist.
