Report : Glasgow Rangers to demand N5.7b for Crystal Palace-linked Nigeria star
Published: October 20, 2021
According to reports, Scottish Premiership champions Glasgow Rangers will demand an eight-figure fee from clubs interested in the signature of Nigeria star Joe Aribo.
Football Insider says that the Light Blues would only be willing to cash in on the central midfielder as from the January transfer window in the event that an interested club offer a £10million-plus (around N5.7 billion in Nigerian currency) transfer fee.
Aribo will enter the final eighteen months of his contract with Rangers in January 2022.
The former Charlton Athletic man has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Crystal Palace mentioned as a possible destination.
Aribo's asking price will easily be met by English top-flight teams even in these Covid times.
Though he is an established Nigeria international, Aribo will count as a homegrown player should he move to the Premier League as he had his footballing education in England.
The 25-year-old has scored nineteen goals and registered seventeen assists in 107 appearances for Rangers.
