Chelsea loanee applauds super-sub Olise for role he played in Palace's second goal vs Man City
Published: October 31, 2021Conor Gallagher has applauded Michael Olise for the the winger's role in the goal scored by Crystal Palace in the 88th minute of their stunning 2-0 win over the reigning champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
After four consecutive draws in the Premier League, Patrick Vieira's team registered a statement win against City with Gallagher netting the clinching goal.
The Chelsea loanee fired an unstoppable shot in off the post to double the advantage after he was teed up by Olise.
The former France U18 international drew two Manchester City defenders, exchanged passes with Wilfried Zaha before playing the ball into the path of Gallagher.
Olise has turned himself into a super sub and Palace have reaped the rewards with his three goal involvements in the Premier League coming off the bench.
"To be fair, I shouldn’t have made the box – the boss told me to sit in a two in midfield!" Gallagher said to Crystal Palace's official webpage.
"I just had a feeling that I could get a chance here, because I was unmarked, so I went in the box and thankfully Michael [Olise] laid me the ball and I was able to finish."
Olise lasted 66 minutes on the pitch on his his full Premier League debut against Newcastle United last weekend.
