Allnigeriasoccer.com's round-up of Nigeria-eligible players that
were in action for their respective clubs in the English Premier League
on Sunday, November 7, 2021.
At the Emirates Stadium in London, Arsenal were able to see out a 1-0 win over Watford, taking their unbeaten run in all competitions to ten matches including eight in the top-flight.
Folarin Balogun was on U23 duties in the Premier League 2 on Saturday, so wasn't named in the matchday squad by manager Mikel Arteta and the same applies to Tim Akinola who has trained with the first team in recent days.
Emmanuel Dennis returned to Watford's starting lineup after serving a one-game ban and was in action for 74 minutes before subbing out, while international teammate William Troost-Ekong was a non-playing substitute.
Bukayo Saka converted from close range in the seventh minute but the goal was ruled out after a VAR check as he was offside when the ball found him.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 56th minute as Smith Rowe fired home from the edge of the box when a loose ball fell kindly to him.
At Goodison Park, Alex Iwobi watched proceedings from the bench as Everton were held to a goalless draw by Tottenham Hotspur in Antonio Conte's first Premier League game in charge of the north London club.
VAR overturned an Everton penalty in the 62nd minute. Referee Chris Kavanagh ruled that Lloris got his fingertips to the ball before bringing down Richarlison after consulting the pitch side monitor.
Wilfred Ndidi made his first Premier League start since September 25 as Leicester City drew 1-1 with Leeds United at Elland Road, and the holding midfielder was joined in the starting lineup by Super Eagles hopeful Ademola Lookman while Kelechi Iheanacho was not utilized off the bench.
Raphinha's free-kick gave Leeds United the lead at minute 26, before the Foxes restored parity through a stunning strike from Harvey Barnes in the 28th minute.
Lookman applied the finish to Tielemans' corner midway through the second half but the goal was disallowed after a VAR check.
Ndidi was booked for a foul on Daniel James with a quarter of an hour remaining - his second caution of the season.
