Norwegian-Nigerian striker Fiabema nominated for Chelsea Goal of the Month
Published: November 09, 2021
Bryan Fiabema's strike against Derby County in the Premier League 2 on October 16 has been included on the shortlist of seven in the running for Chelsea's Goal of the Month award for October 2021, informs the official website of the European champions.
The Norwegian-Nigerian center forward is up against three England internationals in the shape of Ben Chilwell, Mason Mount and Reece James, Chelsea Women's duo Sam Kerr and Erin Cuthbert, and youth team star Dion Rankine for the monthly accolade.
After coming off the bench against the Rams, Fiabema won a penalty which was not converted by Vale seven minutes to go , before netting the clincher for Chelsea in stoppage time.
The Norway U19 international pounced on a loose ball whilst through on goal and placed it into the top corner of the net to wrap up the scoring.
Fiabema was in imperious form last month, scoring three goals in four appearances for Chelsea's youth teams, including a first-ever goal in the UEFA Youth League.
On the international stage, the 18-year-old got his name on the scoresheet four times in three appearances for Norway in the U19 EURO qualifiers in October.
