Watford provide fitness update on Super Eagles star pre-Manchester United
Published: November 18, 2021Watford have provided a fitness update on Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo ahead of the visit of Manchester United to Vicarage Road on Saturday.
The Stoke City loanee is definitely not in contention to feature against the Red Devils as he is still rehabbing after surgery on the tear in his quad.
Signed on a season-long loan to play the N'Golo Kante role for the Hornets, Etebo appeared in six matches in the top-flight prior to his spell on the sidelines.
Without the Nigerian in the squad, Watford have lost four of their last five matches whereas they lost half of the six matches the number 4 was given minutes.
Although Etebo has started working out in the gym, he won't be at the disposal of manager Claudio Ranieri until February 2022.
Providing a squad update, Watford wrote on their official webpage : "German youth international Kwadwo Baah has undergone surgery on his fractured ankle and is in the process of beginning his rehab, while long-term absentee Peter Etebo is working hard on his recovery in the gym."
Etebo will certainly top any poll of the most versatile Super Eagles player as he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, left winger, right winger, center forward and support striker.
