PL 2 : Versatile Nigeria-eligible CB on target again for Tottenham in big win vs Leicester
Published: November 23, 2021
Versatile defender of Nigerian descent Tobi Omole is beginning to add goals to his game after getting his name on the scoresheet for the second time this season in Tottenham Hotspur's 4-1 rout of Leicester City in Monday's Premier League 2 Division 1 encounter at LCFC Training Ground.
The Arsenal-reared youngster opened his account for the season in a 3-3 draw versus Blackburn Rovers U23s on September 17.
The Foxes had a magnificent start to the game, breaking the deadlock through Maswanhise after just four minutes but Spurs responded brilliantly to going behind and were in control at half-time.
Tottenham netted two goals in three minutes at the end of the first half, Fagan-Walcott and Harvey White the scorers.
Eight minutes into the second half, Omole slotted into an empty net after the ball fell kindly for him inside the box, and White with his second of the game extended Tottenham's lead on 58 minutes.
The Anglo-Nigerian has been tipped to make his professional debut at some point in the 2021-2022 season considering that he regularly trains with the first team and was registered as a senior player in Tottenham's Premier League and Europa Conference League squads.
In September, Omole was a reserve option for Spurs against Stade Rennais and NS Mura in the Conference League, and Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
