Colchester's Nigerian GK picks out two dangerous Arsenal players ahead of FAYC cracker
Published: December 09, 2021
Colchester United will face Arsenal in a glamour FA Youth Cup third round tie at the JobServe Community Stadium on Friday night with some Nigeria-eligible players in contention to future.
The likes of Zach Awe, Henry Timi Davies and goalkeeper Brian Okonkwo are age-eligible for the FA Youth Cup as they had not reached the age of 18 as at August 31, 2021.
Colchester United set up a meeting with the young Gunners after wins against Bugbrooke St Michael and Swindon Town, with Nigerian goalkeeper Endurance Johnson in between the pipes for the U's.
Ahead of the huge clash against Arsenal, Flying Eagles hopeful Johnson has warned his Colchester United teammates that they must be wary of Omari Hutchinson and Charlie Patino.
Highly-rated duo Hutchinson and Patino have trained with Arsenal's first team this season and have both been tipped to make their senior debuts for the north London club in the not too distant future.
Speaking to allnigeriasoccer.com, Johnson said : "Yes, there are some Arsenal players we'll be keeping an eye on.
"Familiar names like Omari Hutchinson and Charlie Patino are names that we hear about regularly as they are some of the standout talents in the academy right now who will definitely on the day cause problems.
"However if we do our bit and not show them any time or space on the ball then I feel we can keep them out of the game.
"Overall I feel they have very good players in every position on the pitch and on the day it is our job to make sure they aren't effective and do not cause us problems".
Arsenal are the third most successful team in FA Youth Cup history with seven wins, behind Manchester United (10) and Chelsea (9).
