Kante beats Nigeria-eligible striker, 8 others to Chelsea Goal of the Month award
Published: December 09, 2021France World Cup-winning midfielder N'Golo Kante has beaten Nigeria-eligible youngster Tudor Mendel-Idowu and eight other players to Chelsea Goal of the Month award for November 2021.
The official website of Chelsea informed on Thursday evening that Chelsea fans have voted Kante's sublime solo strike at Leicester Cty as the most eye-catching goal scored by a Chelsea player in November.
2005-born left-footed attack-minded player Mendel-Idowu was nominated for his
effort against Crystal Palace in the U18 Premier League on November 6.
Thirty two minutes into the contest, the first year scholar needed just one touch
to push the ball onto his left-foot before striking the ball across the
goalkeeper and into the top corner to double the advantage.
The Anglo-Nigerian didn't finish in the podium places with Reece James' effort against Juventus in second place and Kai Havertz's header vs Burnley coming third.
Other nominees for Chelsea's Goal of the Month for November were Hakim Ziyech, Chelsea Women's Fran Kirby, Melanie Leupolz and Jessie Fleming, U19 midfielder Charlie Webster and U23s ace Lewis Baker.
The 16-year-old Mendel-Idowu has directly participated in seven goals (4 goals, 3 assists) in his last three matches for Chelsea in the U18 Premier League.
