Simon on media duties, Omeruo gets all-clear to face Sudan as Eagles hold final workout 1630 hours
Published: January 14, 2022
Nantes star Moses Simon has been selected to represent the Super Eagles players at Friday morning's pre-match press conference, where he will field questions journalists pose about the upcoming game against Sudan, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Super Eagles winger will accompany Nigeria's caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen to the pre-match press conference scheduled to begin at 1130 hours.
Simon has been the talk of the town since his impressive performance in the Super Eagles' 1-0 win over Egypt in their Africa Cup of Nations opener on Tuesday evening.
Apart from Chidozie Awaziem who is under the weather and will not play a part against the Falcons, manager Eguavoen has no injury worries heading into the game at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Garoua.
Nigeria have been handed an injury boost with CD Leganes center back Kenneth Omeruo getting the all-clear from the physiotherapists to face Sudan after he was substituted in the closing minutes against Egypt due to a minor complaint.
The Super Eagles will train for the last time today before the game against Sudan; the workout is scheduled to begin at 1630 hours and expected to last for one hour.
Three-time African champions Nigeria will qualify for the last sixteen with a game to spare if they beat Sudan in their next game.
