Through their official website, English Premier League club Watford have confirmed the signing of Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu from French Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux.
The Golden Boot Soccer Academy product has signed a contract with the Hornets until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
Kalu is the fifth Nigerian player signed for Watford's first team this season, after Emmanuel Dennis, Oghenekaro Etebo, Dapo Mebude and Maduka Okoye.
The 24-year-old Kalu began his career in Europe at AS Trencin before switching to Belgium club KAA Gent in 2017, from where he joined Bordeaux.
Speaking after the transfer was confirmed, Kalu told Watford's official website : "I know [Emmanuel] Dennis very well, and [William] Troost-Ekong, we played together at Gent. I also know [Peter] Etebo, we’ve played together in the national team.
"They will help me a lot. I saw Dennis and Etebo and they were very happy to see me. I know they are going to help me settle at the club."
