'Ndidi is not so good' - Leicester coach not sure Super Eagles star will play again this season
Published: March 21, 2022Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers provided a fresh injury update on Wilfred Ndidi after his side's 2-1 win over Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Northern Irishman fears the holding midfielder could miss the remainder of the 2021-2022 campaign as a result of the knee injury he suffered during the second half against Rennes in the Europa Conference League.
It was initially thought that Ndidi would return to action before the middle of April, with Rodgers previously stating that he would be sidelined for a few weeks but it looks like that there's a new time frame.
Prior to the visit of the Bees, the Nigeria international had missed five games this season due to injury and was not available for selection in three other matches due to his commitments with the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
In quotes relayed by LeicestershireLive, Rodgers said : "Wilf is not so good.
"We’re just waiting for a second opinion on that but whether he’ll play for the rest of the season I’m not sure. It’s a real shame for us".
Ndidi has been one of the standout players for the Foxes in European competition this term with two goals and an assist in eight appearances combined in the Europa League and Conference League.
