'Things you love to see' - Balogun reacts as Mainz fan raises Rangers scarf vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Published: May 15, 2022
Leon Balogun has reacted to a Mainz fan showing his support for Glasgow Rangers during the German Bundesliga clash between Mainz and Eintracht Frankfurt at Mewa Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Mainz was Balogun's last club in Germany before he moved to the United Kingdom to link up with Brighton & Hove, from where he joined Rangers on a free transfer in 2020.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side face off with Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Europa League final at Seville's Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium on Wednesday, May 18.
Frankfurt were held to a 2-2 draw by Mainz in their final league game of the season, while Rangers completed their Scottish Premiership campaign with a 3-1 win over Hearts, with Balogun in action for an hour.
The Nigeria international centre-back was delighted to see a fan of a German club publicly showing his support for the Light Blues.
Balogun retweeted a post from Mainz and added : "Things you love to see - a Mainz supporter raising a Rangers scarf in their match against Frankfurt earlier today! Do we have a new friendship between supporters pending? "
