Arsenal legend Jens Lehmann landed in Lagos, Nigeria on Monday, May 16 for a scouting programme organized by Amadehi Football Club in collaboration with Sports Solutions United Kingdom.

The scouting programme is scheduled to start on Tuesday, May 17 at the Ansar-Ud-Deen College in Isolo, Lagos and ends on Friday, May 20.

Twelve teams from different parts of Nigeria including Amadehi FC, Tudun Wada Football Academy Jos, Dominion Hotspurs will trade tackles during the four-day scouting programme.

Apart from Lehmann, the up-and-coming Nigerian players have a chance to show off to a top scout representing the interest of this season's Europa League finalist Eintracht Frankfurt.

Serbian Superliga side FK Proleter Novi Sad and top Portuguese clubs have also sent their talent spotters to run the rule over the Nigerian youngsters with a view to offering contracts to the outstanding players.

Lehmann's trip to Lagos was made possible by Stephen Ogbeche of Amadehi Football Club and his partner Uzoma Obi of Sports Solutions UK.

A retired Germany international, Lehmann made 200 appearances combined in two spells with the Gunners, posting 80 shutouts.

The 52-year-old was a member of Arsenal's 'Invincibles', going the distance in all the matches played by the club in their unbeaten title-winning season in 2003-2004.

The scouting programme promises to showcase grassroots football positively by discovering the next Nigerian superstars.
