New QPR boss reveals what impressed him about Balogun as he reacts to departure from Rangers
Published: June 04, 2022New Queens Park Rangers manager Michael Beale revealed what impressed him about Leon Balogun as he reacted to the central defender's departure from Scottish Premiership giants Glasgow Rangers.
The Light Blues confirmed the departure of the Nigeria international on Friday, two years after the former Mainz star joined the club as a free agent.
Balogun totaled 65 all-competition appearances for Rangers, helping them win the Premiership with a hundred percent home record in his first season at the Ibrox Stadium, and won the Scottish Cup in his final season at G51 2XD.
His two goals for Rangers came in the 2021-2022 Europa League, against Brondby and Red Star Belgrade.
Beale has suggested that Balogun's departure from Rangers means that the club will not only be without his valuable qualities on and off the pitch but will also be missing his leadership attributes.
Beale reposted a tweet from Rangers official handle and shared his impressions about the Nigerian player.
Leon Balogun was outstanding for @RangersFC - both on the pitch but also around the changing room. He is a “personality” leader who gives his team mates so much positivity and guidance on a daily basis. Take a bow @LeonBalogun 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 https://t.co/iAcHtAhpbY

The 41-year-old Beale was an assistant to Steven Gerrard at Rangers when Balogun made the move to Glasgow in 2020.
