Chelsea confirm Norwegian-Nigerian striker finished as development squad top scorer

The Blues have confirmed that Norway youth teamer of Nigerian descent Bryan Fiabema finished as the development squad top scorer for the 2021-2022 season, an honour he shares with Wareham who netted two of his goals from the penalty spot.
Prior to his loan move to Rosenborg in March, the Norwegian-Nigerian striker tallied eight goals in all competitions for the Blues, comprising four in the Premier League 2, 3 in the UEFA Youth League and one in the EFL Trophy.
Fiabema scored against six different teams : Malmo (3), Exeter City, West Ham United, Liverpool, Derby County and Leicester City.
The 19-year-old totaled twenty appearances in all competitions, including twelve starts, and was in action for 1,022 minutes.
Wing-backs Tariq Uwakwe and Richard Olise, and striker Louis Flower were the other players of Nigerian descent that tasted action for Chelsea's development squad last season.
Uwakwe, who completed a permanent move to Crewe Alexandra in the winter transfer market, got on the scoresheet once, against Forest Green in the Papa John's Trophy.
