Top 5 Chelsea transfer targets and the probability of acquiring them

The transfer window is officially open and every club around the world are already preparing to acquire their targets before the new season commences.

This article will be focusing on the top five Chelsea transfer targets and the probability of acquiring them.

Transfers are not easy on the part of clubs but they can be predicted more easily by fans which makes them a great avenue for making money by placing live betting on them.

After the completion of their takeover from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich to a consortium led by American billionaire Todd Boehly, reports have linked a lot of quality players with a move to Stamford Bridge.

With the departure of senior figures like Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on a free with the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso's futures up in the air, a few arrivals are expected in London.

So let us take a look at the players linked with moves to Chelsea and their probability of joining.

1)  Jules Kounde

Chelsea has been hot on the heels of the French defender for the past two seasons. Last summer, his club Sevilla reportedly requested that the Blues pay his full release clause of 65 million Euros but Marina Granovskaia baulked at the price.

Now that the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have left, Chelsea is well short of defenders for next season. Thomas Tuchel likes ball-playing defenders and Kounde is one of the best young centre-backs when on the ball.

He is highly needed by the club but his transfer fee could be an issue. The probablity of siging him is 70 %.

2) Ousmane Dembele : The Frenchman will become a free agent when his contract at Barcelona expires this month if an agreement is not reached. The quick footed winger is one of the best wide playmakers in the world. This type of creator is quite rare and is usually signed for a big transfer fee.

However, the Frenchman played under Thomas Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund before his big money move to Barcelona and it is understood that he would like a reunion with the German manager.

The likes of Hakim Ziyech have not really set the stage alight and being free, the Chelsea recruitment team will be pulling all contacts to get Dembele.The probability of signing him is 75%.

3) Gabriel Jesus : With Romelu Lukaku being reportedly interested in a move back to Italy, Chelsea has been linked with a move for Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus. The Manchester City man whose position is threatened by the arrival of Erling Braut Haaland has also been courted by Arsenal.

A move for Gabriel Jesus to Stamford Bridge seems slim unless the Blues are able to shift either Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic out of the club.

4) Gabriel Slonina : The 18-year-old Chicago Fire goalkeeper has been linked with the Blues and an agreement is reportedly close between the two clubs. Chelsea has gone the big way by spending a fortune to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga who has been largely underwhelming.

According to the Chicago Fire website which has the SSL encryption that  protects sensitive information, Slonina made 46 saves over the course of the 2021 season.

Edouard Mendy was brought in with a sizeable amount to take over from the Spanish goalkeeper and now it seems the recruitment team have decided to go back to youth in the position.

If Slonina joins, he would have the chance to learn from the seniors and grow to take over the position in a few years. The probability of Slonina's arrival at 80%.

5) Kalidou Koulibaly : The Senegalese defender has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge having not responded to a contract extension offer from Napoli. Koulibaly would represent a huge replacement for Rudiger as the Napoli man has been one of the best centre-backs in the world for a few years now.

This transfer talk is at an early stage and the chances of the move happening rated at 40%.

Whichever of the aforementioned transfer targets walk in through the doors of the Stamford Bridge Stadium, the fans would be hoping he performs well and lifts the quality of the squad.
