'It's big pride for me' - Osimhen delighted to be linked with big Premier League clubs
Published: June 27, 2022
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen says he is delighted to be linked with top Premier League, German Bundesliga and Spanish clubs.
The Nigeria international has impressed over the last two seasons at Napoli, notching 28 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions.
Despite Napoli valuing Osimhen in excess of 100 million euros, he is destined to leave the Serie A club before the expiration of his contract.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are the Premier League clubs credited with an interest in Osimhen this summer, and he has also been linked with Champions League winners Real Madrid and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Asked to comment on how he felt being linked with top European clubs, Osimhen said to Wazobia FM : "First of all, when I see these big clubs are interested in me and it's legit and my agent confirms these things to me, it's like big pride to me.
"It shows I'm doing something right in my career. I just want to continue doing what I am doing but it's a thing of pride for me and I'm very happy about myself. "
Osimhen landed in Napoli for a fee of 70 million euros, making him the most expensive African-born player in history.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner, who is the Serie A U23 Player of the Year for 2021-2022, has three years left on his contract with Napoli.
