Manchester United have now confirmed the initial intake of academy scholars includes fourteen teenagers, with Ogunneye part of the group.
For the forthcoming season, the provisionally cap-tied England U17 international of Nigerian descent has been promoted to Manchester United U18 team on a permanent basis.
Ogunneye has already experienced U18 and U19 football last season, having made his debuts in the U18 Premier League and UEFA Youth League while still a schoolboy.
The Anglo-Nigerian is a modern day fullback as seen during his nine games in the 2021-2022 U18 Premier League where he provided assists against Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest, and forced an own goal in a 2-2 draw with Blackburn Rovers.
Ogunneye will be aiming to sign his first professional contract with Manchester United after his seventeenth birthday, which he celebrates on November 12, 2022.
