Turkish champions still keen on signing Watford's Super Eagles central defender
Published: August 20, 2022Turkish Super Lig club, Trabzonpor are reportedly still keen on signing Watford central defender William Troost-Ekong.
Trabzonspor previously made a loan bid with a £1.7 million buyout option but it was rejected by Watford.
The Super Eagles star has found game time hard to come by at the Hornets since returning from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations early this year.
According to BBC journalist Shina Okeleji, the 2021-2022 Turkish topflight winners have not given up on their chase, meaning they have to submit an improved offer for the Tottenham Hotspur product.

Watford are open to the sale of Troost-Ekong but will not let go of the 2019 AFCON bronze medalist for peanuts.
The 28-year-old's contract with the Hornets is due to expire in the summer of 2025.
He played only seven minutes of football out of a possible 360 in the opening four matches of the 2022-2023 Championship season.
Troost-Ekong has been named on the substitutes bench for the ongoing game against Preston North End.
