Seyi Akinwunmi declares his intention to run for NFF Presidency
Published: August 31, 2022The First Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF), Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, Tuesday in Abuja declared his intention to run for the position of president of the Federation.
Akinwunmi in his manifesto promised to revive Nigerian Football with a four point agenda if he is elected to replace Amaju Pinnick as President.
"I have conceptualize the pathway to make Nigeria Football great again. It is football First, and leverages on four Pillars; football development, the business of football, football infrastructure and football technology.
"These will uniquely turn things around and take us back to the top of world Football," the Lagos state FA boss said.
Dignitaries present at the official declaration in Abuja include Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu represented by Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Olusegun Dawodu, successful sports business entrepreneur, Kunle Soname, other NFF presidential aspirants Shehu Dikko, Shehu Gusau, Musa Ahmadu and Peterside Idah.
Former NFA Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, former General Secretary, Dr. Ahmed Tijani, foremost broadcaster and former Director General of the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Dr Danladi Bako all graced the event.
The election into the executive board of the Nigeria Football Federation has been fixed for the 30th of September, 2023 in Benin City, Nigeria.
