Chelsea product out for three more weeks, ruled out of Nigeria's November friendlies
Published: October 31, 2022
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Chelsea academy product Ola Aina has bee ruled out of Nigeria's upcoming friendlies against Costa Rica and Portugal due to injury.
Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro is set to announce his roster for the two international matches in the coming days but will not be able to call upon the services of the versatile Torino defender, who is still recovering from an injury he suffered in training last Wednesday.
Aina has been diagnosed with a myotendinous lesion of the left hamstring, an injury that kept him out of the Torino squad for Sunday's 2-1 win over the Serie A champions AC Milan,
It is confirmed that Aina faces at least three more weeks on the sidelines, meaning he will not play again before the 2022 World Cup.
The 26-year-old has been a key player under Jose Peseiro, starting the Super Eagles last three matches, including last month's friendly against Algeria.
Three-time African champions Nigeria will battle Costa Rica at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica (San José) on November 10, before facing another World Cup bound team Portugal a week later.
