'Complete striker, unselfish' - Chelsea and African legend Drogba lauds Victor Osimhen
Published: November 01, 2022
Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has described Victor Osimhen as a complete and unselfish striker, reacting to a video posted by BBC Journalist Mimi Fawaz.
In the video, Osimhen was seen handing the ball over to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia so as for the Georgian star to take a penalty.
This incident happened during Napoli's 4-2 win over Ajax Amsterdam in a UEFA Champions League matchday four clash at the Diego Maradona Stadium on October 12.
Kvaratskhelia went on to put the Naples based outfit 3-1 ahead in the 62nd minute of the game with the kick.
Osimhen would also go on to find his goal, benefiting from a loose ball played by Daley Blind in the 89th minute.
This reaction from an African legend will definitely be a source of motivation for Osimhen as he has proclaimed that he looked up to Drogba while growing up.
The 23-year-old has been firing on all cylinders this season, scoring seven goals and assisting one in eight Serie A matches.
Osimhen will be looking forward to helping Luciano Spalletti's men do a double over Liverpool in the matchday six of the UEFA Champions League tonight at Anfield.
