Graham Potter promotes 15-year-old to Chelsea first team training pre-Bournemouth

Chelsea manager Graham Potter reportedly ran the rule over talented goalkeeper Kai Crampton ahead of the English Premier League meeting with Bournemouth.

According to Chelsea Youth, the 15-year-old Kai Crampton trained with the Chelsea senior squad for the first time today, Friday.

It remains to be seen whether the young goalkeeper will be included in the matchday squad for the visit of the Cherries considering that Kepa Arrizabalaga and Édouard Mendy are both available for selection.

Mendy is back at Cobham and has been training with the Chelsea squad for a couple of days after his World Cup commitments with the Senegalese national team.

Crampton has been promoted to Chelsea first team training after starring for England U16s in their recent friendly against Turkey, keeping a clean sheet in a 4-0 win.

The 15-year-old becomes eligible to sign a scholarship deal at Chelsea with effect from July 1, 2023.

Crampton has yet to receive a call up to Chelsea's U18, U19 and U21 teams since joining the club.
