Nigerian exports : Chukwueze now on 13 goal involvements, Chima ends drought, Ohizu opens account

Allnigeriasoccer.com's review of the Nigerian players that found the net for their respective foreign clubs in competitive matches on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

At the Estadio Municipal Cartagonova, Samuel Chukwueze took his goal involvements to thirteen (7 goals, 6 assists) for the season after finding the net as Villarreal came from behind to thrash FC Cartagena 5-1 to book their place in the last sixteen of the Copa del Rey.

The Nigeria international came off the bench midway through the second  half and netted the fourth Villarreal goal five minutes from time after a counter-attack.

Elsewhere, former Molde striker Daniel Chima ended an eight-game goal drought but it counted for nothing as Jamshedpur were defeated 3-1 by Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League.

Seventeen minutes in, Chima dinked the ball over the defence and into an unguarded goal  to equalise for his team after the goalkeeper parried away Rafa's effort.

Nigeria's standout performer in last season's South African DStv Premiership, Chibuike Ohizu opened his account for the season as his side Sekhukhune United claimed a 3-2 win against Marumo Gallants at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Ohizu broke the deadlock in the 28th minute after capitalizing on a defensive mistake.
