PL2 : Two Flying Eagles invitees missing as Crystal Palace lose to Fulham, Akinwale scores
Published: January 17, 2023
Two Flying Eagles invitees in the shape of striker Ademola Ola-Adebomi and goalkeeper Owen Goodman were conspicuously missing from Crystal Palace's matchday squad as they were beaten 2-1 by Fulham in a Premier League 2 London derby on Monday.
Ola-Adebomi has yet to show up in the Flying Eagles camp as at Monday, while officials of the Nigeria U20 national team have not yet received feedback from Crystal Palace regarding the invitation of Anglo-Canadian-Nigerian stopper Goodman.
Exciting defensive midfielder David Ozoh, who has been promoted to first team training, was also not involved against the Cottagers ahead of the visit of Manchester United to Selhurst Park for a Premier League game on Wednesday.
Fulham took the lead through Sonny Hilton, who scored directly from a corner in the 18th minute, before Adrion Pajaziti doubled the advantage in the 24th minute.
A Flying Eagles-eligible striker Victor Akinwale pulled one back for the Cottagers in the 25th minute when he finished from close range after latching onto a cross from Danny Imray.
Crystal Palace U21s are fourth in the provisional Premier League 2 standings with 23 points accumulated from thirteen matches played.
