First senior goal for Manchester United-owned midfielder Oyedele
Published: February 18, 2023
Altrincham secured a 3-1 win over Woking in a National League match staged at the The J. Davidson Stadium on Saturday in a game that saw Manchester United-owned midfielder Maximillian Oyedele score his first senior goal.
The Polish-Nigerian midfielder, who was born in Manchester, was loaned out to Altrincham for the remainder of the season in the January transfer window but will continue training with the youth teams of the Red Devils.
He made his senior debut against Chesterfield on January 24 and had to wait for 25 days before tasting action again.
Marcus Dackers opened the scoring for the visitors in the 14th minute but Regan Linney netted from the spot in the 27th minute to ensure honours were even at the break.
Oyedele was only on the pitch for ten minutes having come off the bench to replace Danny Cashman in the 57th minute before giving Altrincham the lead for the first time in the game.
The Poland U19 international converted a low cross from Linney to make it 2-1, before Josh Lundstram put the icing on the cake with three minutes left on the clock
It has taken Oyedele only 27 minutes spread across two matches to score his first goal as a professional.
