'I know Michael’s quality' - Crystal Palace supersub Eze pays tribute to Olise
Published: February 19, 2023Crystal Palace's Man of the Match in their 1-1 draw with Brentford on Saturday, Eberechi Eze waxed lyrical about his teammate Michael Olise after the game, saying that the winger is a player with quality.
Six minutes after he was brought on by manager Patrick Vieira, the Crystal Palace number 10 powered in a close-range header after an excellent delivery from Michael Olise.
Eze knows about the attributes of Olise, having played with him at Crystal Palace for one a half years.
The 2017 Super Eagles invitee hailed the France U21 international of Nigerian descent for the role he played in the opening goal of the contest at the Gtech Community Stadium
"Obviously I know Michael’s quality, and he can put the ball where he wants it when he cuts inside. I was in the right position. You know his quality," Eze explained to Palace's official website.
"He wants to come on his left foot and either he shoots or crosses, so just being the right space helps.
"I just need to work hard, try my best and when I’m called upon I try to deliver."
Eze's excellent performance against the Bees saw the Crystal Palace supporters vote him as the Man of the Match, with the attacking midfielder polling 26.8% of the votes to narrowly pip Joachim Andersen (25.6%) to the award.
The former England U21 international has directly participated in seven goals (4 goals, 3 assists) in 23 appearances in the Premier League this term.
