Eze joins Arsenal, Bournemouth, Everton, Man Utd and Southampton captains in PL TOTW
Published: February 20, 2023Eberechi Eze has been recognized for his outstanding performance during Crystal Palace's 1-1 draw with Brentford last weekend, with football statistics website Whoscored.com picking the attacking midfielder in its Team of the Week.
Six minutes after he was brought on by manager Patrick Vieira, the Crystal Palace number 10 opened the scoring when he powered in a close-range header after an excellent delivery from Michael Olise.
Despite spending 27 minutes on the pitch, Eze surprisingly cracked the Premier League Team of the Week, and has been deployed as the left-sided midfielder in a 4-4-2 formation.
Newly-appointed Bournemouth captain Neto was the standout goalkeeper, and the back four is made up of Everton skipper Séamus Coleman, Victor Lindelöf (Man Utd), Cristian Romero (Tottenham) and Luke Shaw (Man Utd).
Joining Eze in midfielder are Bruno Fernandes, James Ward-Prowse and Martin Ødegaard, who captained Manchester United, Southampton and Arsenal respectively in the latest round of matches in the Premier League.
Red-hot Manchester United player Marcus Rashford and Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah are the two attackers.
Against Brentford, Eze had one shot on target, registered a game-high three dribbles, won two aerial duels, made one tackle and two clearances and was accurate in 66.7 percent of his passes.
