Musa nets brace to continue red-hot form for Manchester United youth team
Published: February 25, 2023Victor Musa continued his red-hot form for Manchester United youth team by getting on the score sheet as the Red Devils thrashed Derby County 5-2 in the U18 Premier League on Saturday at Carrington.
The Anglo-Spanish-Nigerian center forward, who is expected to sign a scholarship deal before the start of the 2023-2024 season, fired a brace in the comprehensive win against the Rams to take his tally to an impressive six goals in his last five matches in the U18 Premier League.
Eight minutes into the game, Scanlon kept his composure to finish well after being played in with a great ball by Berry.
In the 35th minute, Musa rounded the Rams goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the net to double the Red Devils advantage, before Dajaune Brown halved the deficit for the visitors five minutes before halftime.
Musa restored United's two-goal lead in the 44th minute, finishing into the bottom corner after he was set up by another player of Nigerian descent Habeeb Ogunneye.
The outstanding Nolan found the top corner from outside the box to make it 4-1 on 53 minutes, and then Williams netted Manchester United's fifth goal in the 66th minute, before Carlos Williams' pulled one back with three minutes left on the clock.
Musa cut his footballing teeth at Spanish outfit Club Deportivo Lourdes before his move to Manchester United in July 2021.
