Burnley have yet to make a transfer decision on Nathan Tella ahead of their potential return to the English Premier League.
Twelve matches to the end of the regular Championship season, the Clarets coached by legendary Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany sit twelve points clear of Sheffield United at the top of the standings.
Super Eagles hopeful Tella was loaned out to Burnley in the summer transfer window with a break clause included in the deal, which was not exercised in the January transfer window.
The former Arsenal schoolboy has flourished under Kompany, scoring fourteen goals and providing three assists in 35 all-competition appearances.
According to The Sun UK, Kompany is yet to decide whether or not to make a move and bring Tella back for a Premier League push.
Tella was loaned out to Burnley to get a taste of first team football on a regular basis, with the signings of Joe Aribo and Samuel Edozie from Rangers and Manchester City respectively pushing him further down the pecking order fo wingers at the St Mary's Stadium.
Since joining Southampton in 2017, the Anglo-Nigerian has appeared in 41 official games, registering two goals and five assists.
