Super Eagles-eligible player labels Chelsea 'the biggest club in London'

Super Eagles-eligible player Chukwunonso Madueke has labeled Chelsea 'the biggest club in London', adding that he did not have to think twice about joining the Premier League giants when the opportunity arose in the winter transfer market.
The England U21 international believes Chelsea are on a higher level than the likes of Arsenal, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
The trophy haul at Chelsea has been impressive since the start of the millennium, having won the UEFA Champions League and Europa League twice each, the Premier League and FA Cup five times each, and also the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cp in 2021.
A product of the Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace academies, former PSV Eindhoven winger Madueke returned to London last month, signing a seven-and-a-half-year deal, with a club option for the 2030-2031 season.
The Barnet native made three consecutive appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League before he was an unused substitute against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
In quotes relayed by Chelsea's official website, Madueke explained: "When the interest came from Chelsea, there wasn’t any doubt in my mind that I wanted to come here.
"I’m from London and I always wanted to get back to the Premier League eventually, so this was just perfect. Chelsea is the biggest club in London but not just that, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world so it was something that really excited me.
"To come to such an exciting new project really appealed to me. I’m 20 years old, I know I’m not the finished article and in a league as tough as the Premier League, I know I’m going to have ups and downs and highs and lows.
"Deep down though, I know I’m going to succeed here. There’s a reason that a club like Chelsea want to go out and buy you and that’s given me a lot of confidence and I just want to repay that faith now."
The results have not been impressive since Madueke's arrival at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues failing to win any of their last six matches across all competitions.
