2023 Flying Eagles invitee nominated for Crystal Palace Goal of the Month
Published: March 04, 2023
2023 Flying Eagles invitee Ademola Ola-Ademobi has been nominated for Crystal Palace's Goal of the Month award for February 2023.
Following his return to England after training with the Flying Eagles in Abuja, he netted his first goal on February 27 as Crystal Palace's development squad were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League 2.
This is the second consecutive month Ola-Ademobi has been shortlisted for the Eagles' Goal of the Month as he was also nominated for the January award but was beaten to the accolade by Michael Olise.
Against Tottenham Hotspur, the 19-year-old leveled for Crystal Palace shortly after the restart.
He took a touch on his right foot inside the box, turned and poked in the equalizer to take his tally in the division to four goals in 12 matches, four of which he started.
Ola-Adebomi faces competition from five other Crystal Palace players to win the award, namely Jeffrey Schlupp, Jack Wells-Morrison, Fionn Mooney, Hollie Olding and Coral Haines.
Meanwhile, Michael Olise has won Crystal Palace's Player of the Month award for February 2023, his third POTM in the last four months, having taken the prize for November and December.
With 37.9% of the votes, the 2021 Super Eagles invitee edged out Marc Guéhi (14.4%) into second place, with Vicente Guaita (12.4%) finishing third.
