Musa stars for Man Utd youth team in six-goal thriller against Leeds United
Published: March 05, 2023
Spanish-born Nigerian attacker Victor Musa continues to catch the eye for Manchester United youth teams.
The England youth international impressed as Manchester United and Leeds United shared the spoils with a 3-3 draw in an U18 Premier League match at Thorp Arch Training Ground on Saturday.
Musa has either scored or assisted in six of the last seven games contested by United's U18 team in the league.
Against Leeds United, the Red Devils thought they were out of sight as they were leading 3-1 with five minutes left on the clock but the home team stormed back from two goals down to earn a point.
Anglo-Nigerian fullback Habeeb Ogunneye scored an unfortunate own goal in the ninth minute, putting the ball into his own net as he attempted to clear a cross, but James Nolan, on 26 minutes, leveled matters.
Musa found it easy getting in behind the Leeds United defenders in the first half and came close to getting on the scoresheet on the stroke of halftime but his shot came back off the post.
The schoolboy provided the assist for United's second goal, beating two defenders and poking the ball across goal for Williams, who finished well under pressure.
All things being equal, Musa is expected to be named among Manchester United's new intake of academy scholars for the 2023-2024 season.
