Tottenham Hotspur loanee Destiny Udogie has been beaten to the Italian Serie A March Player of the Month award by Napoli dazzler Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Udogie is on loan at Udinese and was nominated for his brilliant performance in the just concluding month, registering one assist and helping the Italian side keep two clean sheets in the 3 matches played in March.
He was responsible for assisting fellow Nigerian, Kingsley Ehizibue, for the 3rd goal in Udinese's 3-1 away win against defending champions, AC Milan.
The Player of the Month is awarded by Lega Serie A, the Italian top-flight governing body in partnership with EA Sports and awarded to the player with the most votes by fans among the nominated players considered to have done well in a particular month.
Kvaratskhelia beat teammate Minjae Kim (Napoli), Armand Laurienté (Sassuolo), Adrien Rabiot (Juventus) and Udogie to the monthly accolade.
Udogie has started all 23 games he has been available for selection this season, scoring 3 goals and registering 3 assists while playing as a left wingback in Udinese's 3-5-2 formation.
The 20-year-old currently plays for Italy U21s and is still eligible to play for Nigeria through his parents as he's yet to feature for the senior national team of Italy.
