Man Utd, Chelsea, 2 other Euro giants waiting for Napoli to decide Osimhen's price tag
Published: April 27, 2023Italian transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano has debunked reports claiming that Paris Saint-Germain have agreed personal terms with the entourage of Victor Osimhen.
Romano insisted that the cart cannot be put before the horse as Napoli have not even set a price tag for the in-demand Nigeria international.
Osimhen is attracting interest from top clubs across Europe, including France, where he previously played for Lille.
Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich hold a concrete interest in Osimhen, with a transfer likely to happen in the summer transfer window.
It has been suggested that the 24-year-old would prioritize a transfer to the Premier League over the Bundesliga and Ligue 1.
Osimhen has put himself in the shop window after notching 21 goals in the Serie A, making him the top scorer in the division, and scored another five in the Champions League before Napoli were eliminated from the competition.
Chelsea are in the market for a new number 6 and a center forward this summer, while Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag wants to bolster his squad with a traditional and physical number 9 in the mould of Osimhen.
Providing an update on Osimhen, Romano said on his YouTube page on Thursday night: "Obviously Victor Osimhen is in the interest of Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
"These four clubs want Victor Osimhen and want to be informed on Victor Osimhen.
"What I can clarify is that at the moment there is still not even a price tag on Victor Osimhen so it's not even clear how much Napoli will ask for Osimhen.
"I see many saying 100, 120m for Osimhen but Napoli have not decided yet so all these clubs are still waiting for Napoli to decide a potential price tag for Osimhen but also his camp spoke to Mundo Deportivo in Spain in the last hours and they said there's no agreement with any club for Victor because we had reports of an agreement on personal terms between Osimhen and PSG, it's denied by his agents.
"They said it's fake news and nothing is decided for Osimhen at this stage so we have to wait and the first step has to be Napoli to decide on the price tag and then Osimhen will be be able to negotiate with the clubs.
"Bayern Munich, PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea remain in the race for Osimhen.
Osimhen has approximately two years left on his contract with Napoli, whom he joined from Lille in exchange for 70 million euros.
