Official : African winger signs new contract with Chelsea
Published: April 28, 2023With a statement on their official website, Chelsea have announced that Ghanaian winger Ato Ampah has signed a new deal with the club.
The Accra-born starlet has signed his first professional contract which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until at least the end of the 2024-2025 season.
Ampah has been described by Chelsea's official website as 'a very quick and dynamic attacking player who can play in a number of forward positions'.
The 17-year-old has played nonstop at Chelsea since joining them as an U11 from grassroots football.
In his final season as a schoolboy, the right winger recorded three appearances in the U18 Premier League and has totaled thirteen appearances in the division in 2022-2023.
Ampah made his UEFA Youth League debut against Dinamo Zagreb back in September before coming off the bench again in a 1-1 draw with Salzburg.
