Cobham product Ola Aina makes decision on his future with Torino
Published: May 13, 2023Chelsea's Cobham product Ola Aina is preparing to bid farewell to Italian Serie A club Torino.
According to Calciomercato, Aina has informed Torino that he will not extend his contract which expires on June 30, 2023.
The Nigeria international initially arrived at Torino on a season-loan loan deal in 2018 before the transfer was made permanent the following season.
He has scored two goals and registered seven assists across 110 appearances in all competitions.
Aina was not called up for fifteen of the last 23 matches played by Torino because he was recovering from muscle injuries.
A member of the Super Eagles squads to the 2019 and 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, he was in the Nigeria side that failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, going the distance in both games against Ghana in the playoffs.
Aina will definitely have admirers in the Premier League given that the former England youth teamer is a homegrown player and offers versatility.
The 26-year-old has played mostly as a right-back for the Nigerian national team, but he's also a reliable alternative in the left-back, right wingback and left wingback positions.
