Bosso hints at starting XI, formation against DR: How the Flying Eagles lined up v Colombia
Published: May 16, 2023
As expected, Nigeria U20 boss Ladan Bosso hinted at his starting lineup for the national team's 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup opener against Dominican Republic during Tuesday evening's friendly.
The Flying Eagles rallied back to earn a 3-3 draw with Colombia in their final preparatory game, with Jude Sunday, Ibrahim Beji Muhammad and Emmanuel Umeh getting on the scoresheet.
The Colombians led 2-1 a the break but a strong second half performance from the Flying Eagles earned them a draw.
Alnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Kingsley Aniagboso started in goal against the South Americans, and it's not a surprise that he has gotten the nod over Nathaniel Nwosu after he posted four clean sheets at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
In a 4-3-3 formation, the Giant Brilliants FC glovesman was protected by a back four of Abel Ogwuche, Daniel Bameyi, Benjamin Fredrick and Solomon Agbalaka.
Bosso went for a midfield three containing Botev Plovdiv's Tochukwu Nnadi, Pro Success Football Academy's Samson Lawal and Nasarawa United's John Joshua.
Sunday Jude, Ibrahim Beji Muhammad and Lawal Salim Fago were the strikers, a decision that meant Emmanuel Umeh started on the bench.
