Union Berlin, Eintracht Frankfurt, Galatasaray interested in Burnley, Lille-linked striker Orban
Published: May 30, 2023
German Bundesliga sides Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt have been reported to be leading the race for Nigerian sensational striker, Gift Orban.
Newly promoted Premier League side, Burnley have also been linked with the former Stabæk striker while French side Lille consider him as the first option if Jonathan David departs in the summer.
This is according to European journalist, Sacha Tavolieri who said the aforementioned German sides are the most interested in the services of Orban.
The 20-year-old has caught the attention of everyone around Europe with his efficiency in front of goal since moving to KAA Gent in the January transfer window.
The diminutive striker has netted 20 goals in 21 games for Gent and is the club's top scorer since January.
The reason behind Union Berlin's interest in Orban is not far-fetched as they scored 51 goals in the recently concluded Bundesliga which was the joint fewest among the teams in the top half of the table.
The addition of Orban to the side will improve their attack as they prepare to participate in UEFA Champions League next season.
Eintracht Frankfurt are on the verge of losing star striker, Randal Kolo Muani and they feel Orban will be a suitable replacement for the French man.
Per the report, Turkish side, Galatasaray made an offer of a loan deal plus a €15 million buy option but the proposal was rejected by Gent.
