Published: September 05, 2023
2011 Flying Eagles invitee Freddie Ladapo has been named in Whoscored.com's EFL Championship Team of the Week for his outstanding performance for Ipswich Town in their come-from-behind 3-2 win over Jamilu Collins' Cardiff City.
In his 50th league appearance for the Blues, Ladapo bagged a brace as Ipswich Town came from 2-0 down to win 3-2.
The Nigerian center-forward squeezed the ball in at the near post from a narrow angle to restore parity in the 68th minute before tapping in the game-winning goal at minute 78.
Whoscored.com uses data to rank the players' performances and Ladapo was awarded a rating of 8.20, more than any other player that featured at Portman Road.
The former Crystal Palace striker registered three shots with two ending up in the back of the net, made one key pass, won two aerial duels and won two fouls for Ipswich Town.
Ladapo totaled 27 touches and was accurate in 68.4 percent of his passes, but didn't make any defensive contributions with no tackles, interceptions, blocks and clearances.
The 30-year-old was in good form before the international break, having registered four goal involvements in his last three games across all competitions.
