'I'd love to play in the Premier League' - Chelsea target Osimhen open to a move to England
Published: January 16, 2024
Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has revealed that he would love to play in the Premier League amid being linked with Chelsea.
The Napoli ace has been linked with a move to the English top flight particularly Chelsea who consider him as a primary target and the player that would solve their long-standing goalscoring woes.
While a move for him in this window is unlikely, the two-time European champions will be in the queue of suitors interested in grabbing the signature of the Nigeria international in the summer.
The hope of the Stamford Bridge outfit signing the 25-year-old might have been boosted by his statement on wanting to play in the Premier League.
Speaking with Sky Sports, the Napoli star has revealed that he would love to play in the English top-tier division.
"Of course, one day I'd love to play in the Premier League definitely. But for now I've other plans for my career," Osimhen said.
"When the time comes, everyone will know."
Besides Chelsea, the world-class striker is also on the radar of Arsenal but it remains to be seen whether the North London side can afford to meet his valuation by activating his release clause.
As stated in his new contract with Napoli, Osimhen has a €120 m release clause which is not exclusive to any club.
