Published: January 19, 2024
EFL League Two club Forest Green Rovers signed two midfielders of Nigerian descent this week
Manchester United's Poland U21 international of Nigerian descent Maxi Oyedele has joined the Green Army on loan for the remainder of the season.
Oyedele is now set to make his debut in the Football League after getting a taste of men's football during a loan spell at National League club Altrincham in the second half of last season.
The 19-year-old has trained with Manchester United's first team on several occasions but has yet to receive a call-up for a senior game.
Salford born Oyedele joined Manchester United at the age of eight, rising through the youth team ranks before signing his first professional contract in May 2022.
The Anglo-Polish-Nigerian teenager has been allocated the number 22 jersey at Forest Green Rovers.
Emmanuel Osadebe has completed a permanent transfer to Forest Green Rovers from Bradford City.
The 27-year-old is Forest Green Rovers' fifth signing of the January transfer window, after Alex Gorrin, Dominic Thompson, Tommy Simkin and Maxi Oyedele.
Osadebe is a seasoned campaigner in the Football League with 194 career appearances under his belt for Gillingham FC, Cambridge United, Newport County, Macclesfield Town, Walsall and Bradford City.
