'There's going to be interest from Saudi, Chelsea, Arsenal'- Romano expects Osimhen to leave Napoli
Published: January 24, 2024
Transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli at the end of the season.
The reigning CAF Men's Player of the Year's future with Napoli has been uncertain since last summer when he was linked with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and other European heavyweights while Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal also attempted to sign him.
Despite just signing a new deal, the uncertainty has refused to go away and that has not been helped by the 25-year-old's recent statement that he has figured out the next step to take in his career
Romano while speaking on his YouTube channel via Football Transfers on the future of the star striker claimed that he is going to leave Napoli at the end of the season with Chelsea, Arsenal set to show interest in his services as well as the Saudi Pro League.
"What's the decision? The decision is to leave in the summer transfer window," Romano told his YouTube channel.
"Osimhen, from what I'm hearing, believes his cycle, his extraordinary job at Napoli, winning the Scudetto, scoring a lot of goals, is now over. He will complete the season at Napoli and then leave in the summer. This is the priority of the player.
"In January, he's going nowhere, but in the summer there's going to be interest from Saudi again, interest from Chelsea, let's keep them in the conversation for Victor Osimhen, and from Arsenal too.
"For sure Victor Osimhen, with this important statement, this bomb, has made it clear he's going to be available on the market in the summer transfer window to try a new experience."
Napoli are highly unlikely to defend their league title but will be hoping that Osimhen can help them finish the season strongly by qualifying for the Champions League.
They currently sit in the 9th position on the league table with 31 points, three adrift of Fiorentina who occupy the last Champions League spot.
