'Real Madrid, PSG or some top PL club' - Napoli chief reveals possible destination for Chelsea target Osimhen
Published: January 26, 2024
Aurelio De Laurentiis, president of Napoli, has confirmed that Victor Osimhen will be leaving Napoli at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
The Nigeria international recently granted an interview, where he stated that he has already decided what the next step in his career will be, suggesting that he should say goodbye to Napoli at the end of the season.
It is believed that Chelsea are in pole position to sign the African Footballer of the Year, who has also been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United in the past.
The center forward has a release clause in the region of 120 million euros, an achievable fee for Chelsea but would leave a big dent in their transfer budget.
The Gunners are looking for a reliable striker but could turn their attention to other available cheaper targets, while Real Madrid are likely to go for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.
Aurelio De Laurentiis sees Osimhen joining Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or a top English Premier League club.
In quotes relayed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, he said: "I wasn't surprised by his words. We already knew that he would leave. The probable destinations? Real Madrid, PSG or some top Premier League club".
Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020 from Lille and has scored 67 goals in 119 matches in all competitions for the Parthenopeans.
