Confirmed: Danish club that trained three Nigeria AFCON stars reward Musa with new long-term deal
Published: January 29, 2024
With a statement on their official website, Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland have announced that Nigerian striker Isa Musa has signed a new-long term contract.
The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will keep him at FC Midtjylland until the end of 2028.
Three members of the Super Eagles squad at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations received their football education at the FC Midtjylland academy, including Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika and Paul Onuachu.
Musa joined FC Midtjylland from Nigerian partner club FC Ebedei, a year ago, and is a member of the Danish club's U19 team.
He received his first call-up for a first team game against Silkeborg IF in the Superliga in March 2023 but was a non-playing substitute and was also not utilized off the bench against the same opponent two months later.
Musa has struggled with injuries since landing at FC Midtjylland but his contract has been extended because The Wolves see him as a player with potential.
He has been involved in five goals (3 goals, 2 assists) in fifteen appearances in the U19 Boys League and made his UEFA Youth League debut against Rukh Lviv in November 2023.
Obule Sunday Moses and Stanley Iheanacho play for FC Midtjylland's U19 team.
